We offer in-person trauma and PTSD therapy in a safe and private environment at our Gold Coast offices. Your sessions generally run weekly, for 60-90 minutes each time. They are longer than typical therapy sessions – you spend less of your time settling in, reviewing and recapping past sessions, so you can progress faster on your healing journey.

Online Therapy
Flexible sessions for people all across Australia
You’ll get the same personalised, trauma-informed approach in our online sessions as you would face-to-face. (You may even find it’s easier to have a little distance via the screen.)
I have many years of experience treating people for PTSD and trauma in an online format. The 90 minute format is efficient and effective, for faster outcomes.
Move Forward Without Retelling
Avoid Reliving Your Trauma
Talking about your past trauma can be overwhelming or even retraumatising. Where we can, we take a trauma sensitive approach, where you are not required to speak about your experiences in detail for the therapy to work.
EMDR can be effective with only a few simple facts. In one case of childhood abuse, all we knew was the room where the abuse occurred, the physical sensations the person felt when thinking of the incident, and how the person felt about themselves (when thinking of the incident). That was enough for the client to work through and resolve her trauma.
Where appropriate, we utilise effective aspects of other therapy modalities, such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to enhance and promote therapeutic progress and outcomes. All our approaches are evidence-based and tailored to you and your specific situation.

Our Therapy Approaches
Methods we use in our trauma and PTSD therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
EMDR is the world’s most researched and proven methodology for treating trauma and PTSD. We are also trained in EMDR 2.0, in additon to EMDR for children and for first responders.
It uses particular movements or sounds to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories and store them without the distress, emotion, physical sensations and negative sense of self.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) & Trauma-Focused CBT
CBT helps you recognise and change unhelpful thought patterns which keep you in distress.
Trauma-Focused CBT goes a step further. It includes structured techniques designed to support you as you process traumatic experiences.

Other modalities
Where appropriate, we may also use Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. All our approaches are evidence-based and tailored to you and your specific situation.
