The devastating effects of trauma don’t always resolve on their own. Educated, informed and understanding professionals can form a vital part of the support network.

We run public courses when there is demand, or you may wish to organise a time for your team to take the course together, in the convenience of your own office.

Karl and Claire were welcoming and passionate about supporting people with trauma and other conditions, they made this training comfortable and safe to engage in, even with Karl’s crazy dad jokes!

Earlier this year, we had a few staff attend the 2-day Trauma Masterclass. When they returned to work, they spoke so enthusiastically and positively about the training, and its impact to their learning, and how great the workbooks were, that Althea Managers made the decision to register the rest of the whole team in for the 2-day training. So, off we all went, and what a great decision that was.

We were impressed to see so much information compacted into 2 days, but the main points were obvious and not overwhelming. While we work in Child Protection, we found this incredibly useful to learn about so many different types of conditions and mental health illnesses, and the impact of trauma, that a short course like this one is quick, easy and practicable for our busy and crisis-driven profession, and we were able to stop, reflect, learn, assess, and strengthen our professional frameworks. We strongly recommend this training to all human service organisations in our community.

I have had many conversations since the team attended, all stating how valuable and insightful the training was showing upmost gratitude for you and the valuable education given.

As Program Coordinator at selectability, I considered it a highly valuable investment to provide our staff with the opportunity to attend the Vicarious Trauma Masterclass. Karl demonstrated exceptional knowledge and professionalism, delivering a workshop that not only equipped staff with practical strategies for managing vicarious trauma but also offered critical insight into the development of PTSD and CPTSD. The session was of significant benefit to both the team and I, enhancing our collective capacity to maintain wellbeing while delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care. Overall, the workshop represented an excellent investment in strengthening our workforce and ensuring sustainable, safe, and effective support for the people we serve.

Karl’s ability to share his knowledge and experience through real-life examples makes his workshops both engaging and memorable.

Vista Therapy offers a range of workshops tailored to professionals who support people affected by trauma. These sessions have been an excellent investment in professional development for our direct support staff as well as our management teams. I wholeheartedly recommend Vista Therapy’s workshops to all human service professionals seeking to strengthen their skills and better support the people they work with.

I recently attended the 2-day Trauma Masterclass delivered by Karl from Vista Advanced Psychological Therapy, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The content was incredibly informative and presented in a way that made such a complex and intense topic easy to digest and engage with.

Karl’s delivery was outstanding — he balanced deep clinical knowledge with genuine care, remaining mindful of the wellbeing of all participants throughout the entire program. The environment felt safe, supportive, and empowering, which is no small feat when discussing trauma.

This course is something I believe should be mandatory for all CEOs, leaders, and therapists. The insights gained not only enhance professional practice but also contribute to building healthier, more trauma-informed workplaces and communities.

Operations Manager/Director, Bamford Community Care

Karl, with the support of Claire presented a Two-Day Trauma Masterclass to nearly thirty mental health professionals from our organisation.

The content of the presentation was on point and up to date with current knowledge in the field of trauma and was delivered in an engaging and very human way.

Karl’s depth of knowledge of trauma therapy is proven in his ability to cover research findings, theoretical knowledge, as well as demonstrate sound practical application of the subject matter. Our team felt that although the content that was presented was “high level”, it applied equally well to a range of disciplines across the team. Overall, it was a well-structured, engaging and professional presentation that our team enjoyed.

Trauma is a sensitive subject, and Karl and Claire navigated the need for care and sensitivity with a high degree of professional competence….as well as some light humour.

I thoroughly recommend this workshop to anyone who is looking to extend or consolidate their knowledge and clinical skills in the area of trauma recovery.

As an organisation of Behaviour Practitioners, I consider it essential to have a clear idea of trauma, what it does to a person and the effect that it has on behaviour.

Karl’s 2-day master class on Trauma & PTSD is second to none because of his depth of knowledge and vast experience in the disability sector. Those who work in the disability sector understand sadly that there are very high abuse rates for people with disabilities in the community which many of the people that we support are unable to communicate or express. We need to be fully armed with knowledge and the assessment tools available to use, the Master Class is essential, comprehensive, and enlightening and FUN. Additionally, it must be said that Karl is one of the very few people that I am aware of who is able to use a modified approach to EMDR therapy for people with disabilities and get out standing out comes which completely changes the lives of people with a disability. I having witnessed this first hand and I can say Karl’s skills include empathy, person centered approach and is extremely skilled to make a positive difference for a group of people who traditionally find it hard to access meaningful change to trauma & PTSD responses.

Thank you, Karl, for all your hard work.
