About Karl
With over two decades of experience in the mental health, trauma and disability field, Karl has worked in some of the most challenging and complex environments and specialist mental health services during his career.

Passionate about enhancing capacity and outcomes for people that live with the ongoing effects of trauma and adversity, Karl provides supervision to other therapists. Karl has also developed and delivered advanced trauma related training to hundreds of mental health professionals, including Psychiatrists, GP's, psychologists, therapists and counsellors, teachers, police psychology, health workers and many other disciplines.​

Trained in EMDR, CBT, Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), ACT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and many other modalities, Karl uses an integrated therapeutic approach to individualise treatment, whilst optimising the persons experience of therapy and their outcomes.

Karl ​has been acknowledged for his expertise and contribution to the development of the 'Queensland Trauma Strategy 2024 - 2029', released in October 2024 by the Queensland Mental Health Commission.

Karl is an AHPRA registered, credentialed mental health nurse (ACMHN), EMDRAA full member, and listed EMDR therapist with EMDR Institute Inc., holding dual nursing qualifications in mental health and intellectual disability.

​As well as private practice, Karl continues to work as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Trauma Therapist), with the Townsville University Hospital's (TUH) Mental Health Service, Rural and Remote Resource team, delivering specialist online and in person trauma therapy to people open to the TUH Mental Health Service
